This was my third walk in three days up to the old explosives store near Castle Crag. It’s a pleasant walk and offers plenty of opportunities for the photographer – just not so nice for three consecutive days.
The first day the drizzle never really stopped, and as hard as I tried I was plagued by tiny raindrops that got on the grad filter.
Yesterday the weather had seemed better but was playing the same game with me. Eventually it seemed clearer and I thought I’d sheltered the camera, but when I got back to the house I found raindrops on the pictures I thought were OK, beautifully sharp at f22 too.
Day 3 wasn’t much better, but this was my favourite from the day and was shot with Lee 3 stop soft neutral grad, and adjusted in Lightroom 4 with a grad filter or two to beef up the sky.
